Carlotta Cerquetti is a director and filmmaker born in Rome, Italy.
After graduating in classical studies, she studied photography at Istituto Europeo di Design.
In New York City, she was assistant to photographer Hiro (Yasuhiro Wakabayashi), taking part in shootings for Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair.
As a photographer she worked for Mondadori Publishing House.
In 1994 she earned a Certificate in Filmmaking at New York University.
Since then, she directed documentaries and short films awarded at festivals worldwide.
Her latest documentary, Linfa, is on Amazon Prime Video and on Chili.
Her documentary Harry’s Bar was awarded at Venice Film Festival and has been part of the Netflix Catalog (2017-2019). It is now on Mediaset Infinity.
She served as second unit director in feature films Quando la notte and Latin Lover by Cristina Comencini and as first assistant director in Un giorno speciale by Francesca Comencini.
She is a member of the Executive Board of Women in film Television & Media Italia wiftmitalia.it
